Location: Farnborough
Working pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000, plus Company Bonus and Benefits

The Role:
Parico is seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. You’ll have the freedoms to be truly innovative to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer’s complex problems.
You will be part of a team developing greenfield systems and services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premise infrastructure components. You’ll have the opportunity to shape operational platforms and services within a close-knit technical team. You’ll have the freedom to apply your knowledge and experience whilst also recommending further technical ‘good practice’ and improvements to enhance all infrastructure capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Architecting, configuring and deploying scalable and secure network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) to support business operations
- Continuously monitoring network health, analysing traffic patterns and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard network integrity and data privacy
- Serving as the escalation point for complex network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution
- Owning / delivering low-level designs (LLDs) and high-level design (HLDs)
- Maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations, topologies, and incident reports to support audits and future planning
- Work cross-functionally with IT teams and vendors, and mentor junior engineers to ensure alignment with strategic goals and best practices
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Proficiency in designing and implementing complex LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN infrastructures using Cisco, Juniper, or similar technologies
- Proven diagnostic skills with tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor and resolve latency, outages, and bottlenecks
- You can lead LLD creation and contribute to HLD reviews
- Previous experience working with Juniper and FortiGate products
- Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and enforcing network security policies
- Ability to resolve high-level network issues and mentor junior engineers through complex problem-solving
- Desirable background in UK Defence (Army, RAF, Royal Navy)
