Location: Bristol, surrounding areas
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, plus Company Bonus and Benefits

The Role
We’re looking for a talented Availability & Event Manager who is smart, curious, and thrives in the dynamic environment of a small business tackling complex challenges across the Public Sector. This role offers the freedom to be truly innovative—whether that means rolling up your sleeves, diving deep into system intricacies, or crafting exceptional technical solutions that address our customers’ toughest problems.
As our Availability & Event Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the performance and reliability of our customers’ IT systems. You’ll work closely with the Incident Manager and support teams to ensure service availability, meet SLAs, and drive continuous improvement across our technical operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Monitor and analyse system events to identify patterns, detect anomalies, and drive service improvements
- Ensure comprehensive monitoring across all IT components and services to maintain visibility and control
- Investigate and resolve service availability issues, ensuring minimal disruption and swift recovery
- Perform impact and single point of failure analyses to strengthen system resilience and reduce operational risk
- Ensure IT services are recoverable within agreed SLAs, maintaining compliance and customer satisfaction
Who we're ideally looking for:
- You'll have proven experience applying ITIL principles and methodologies to drive efficient service management and continuous improvement
- You'll be skilled in identifying and managing service-related risks, ensuring proactive mitigation and operational resilience.
- Ideally you've had hands-on experience with monitoring and service management tools including BMC Remedy, Zabbix, OpenSearch Manager, and Grafana, supporting real-time visibility and incident response.
- You'll have a good understanding of the MOD’s Secure By Design framework and NCSC Security Principles, ensuring compliance and secure service delivery in defence environments.
- Bonus points for demonstrable sector knowledge and experience within the UK Public Sector, with insight into its operational standards, governance, and stakeholder expectations.
