The Role:
Parico is seeking a talented Platform Engineer to work on exciting and dynamic projects, thriving on the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and demanding problems across the Public Sector landscape. You'll have the freedom to be truly innovative: rolling up your sleeves, getting deep into the detail of platforms and infrastructure and doing what it takes to deliver robust, effective technical solutions for our customers' complex environments.
This is a hands-on Platform Engineering role focussed on supporting, maintaining and improving existing platform services, while also contributing to change initiatives and greenfield platform development. You will work directly with live systems, performing upgrades, deployments, patching and 3rd line troubleshooting, with an big emphasis on automating and improving operational practices. The role is ideal for a mid-level to senior engineer who enjoys ownership, working close to the technology and continuously enhancing how platforms are built, operated and support.
What You'll Be Doing:
Providing support, maintenance and patching across platform and infrastructure environments
Acting as 3rd line escalation point, resolving complex incidents and technical issues
Supporting and maintaining AWS cloud environments, including deployments and operational tasks
Improving platform reliability by automating manual and repetitive operational processes
Working closely with engineering teams to ensure platform stability and performance
Our Ideal Candidate:
Proven Linux administration experience (essential); Windows knowledge is beneficial
Hands-on AWS experience, particularly in maintenance and deployments
Demonstrable experience with DevOps tooling such as Jenkins and Git
Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally using Ansible
Solid understanding of virtualisation and on-prem infrastructure technologies
